Program Description

 

The purpose of the Music Therapy/Lessons Program is to address the physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals if all age groups. The Music Therapy/Lessons Program is designed to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and illness. The Music Therapy/Lessons Program promotes the following:

Wellness
Stress Management
Pain Management
Self-Expression
Memory Enhancement
Effective Communication Skills
Mobility Enhancement

The Music Therapy/ Lessons Program also teaches individuals musical instruments by incorporating basic music theory concepts as well as ear and vocal training. The lessons are geared to individuals of all ages and include games for children to reinforce the musical concepts. Performances occur three times a year to demonstrate accomplishments achieved.
